STONEWALL JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

In 1906 the Mary Custis Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy bought Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson's home from his widow, Mary Anna Morrison Jackson, to establish Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. It was the first hospital in Rockbridge County
and remained so from
1906-1954.

If you were born at the Stonewall Jackson House between 1906 and 1954, when the house was serving as Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, you are eligible to join the birthday club!

Those who qualify, complete a membership form and send in the $10 fee for shipping and handling receive a certificate suitable for framing.

The Stonewall Jackson House Birthday Club, which was "born" on Mother's Day, May 11, 1986, now has nearly 600 members.

A copy of your certificate will be kept with your membership application in a birthday book which is retained at the Stonewall Jackson House.
